Sean Symons trained at The Royal London Medical School and qualified as a doctor in 1994. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999. He trained as a Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon in North West Thames, working at three teaching hospitals - Charing Cross Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital.

During his training Sean Symons undertook several Fellowships:

  • The Coxen Fellowship in Children's Orthopaedic Surgery, The Royal London Hospital
  • Children's Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship, The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia
  • The Smith & Nephew Limb Reconstruction Fellowship, Alder Hey Hospital & The Royal Liverpool Hospital

Sean Symons became a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 2008.
